My VELUX centre pivot roof window has started to let rain in. This only happens when there is heavy rain. It is leaking from the corners at the bottom of the roof window. Does anyone know how to fix this leaking or will I have to replace my VELUX?

Addressing a leaking VELUX window can be done by following these steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue without needing a full replacement:
Inspect the Seal and Gasket:
Check the rubber seals and gaskets around the window for any signs of damage, wear, or gaps. Over time, these can deteriorate, causing leaks.
If the seals or gaskets are damaged, consider replacing them. VELUX offers replacement parts that you can order and install.
Clean the Drain Channels:
VELUX windows are designed with drain channels to direct water away from the window. Over time, these channels can become clogged with debris.
Open the window and clean out any dirt, leaves, or other debris from the drain channels using a soft brush or cloth.
Check the Flashing Kit:
The flashing kit is essential for preventing leaks around roof windows. Inspect the flashing to ensure it is properly installed and not damaged.
If you notice any issues with the flashing, it might need to be resealed or replaced.
Inspect the Installation:
Improper installation can lead to leaks. Ensure that the window was installed according to VELUX’s guidelines, with the correct pitch and alignment.
Look for any gaps between the window and the roof, and ensure all screws and fittings are secure.
